As 2024 draws to a close, we’re excited to launch our monthly good news wrap from across our business.
🤝This week, we said a fond goodbye to David Janusz, who will now end the year with his well-earned retirement. David has been a central member of the team for the last three years delivering digital projects such as with the Berkshire Digital Infrastructure Group – DCIA programme, the GM 5GIR Programme across Greater Manchester and the Liverpool City Region HDD O-RAN project. We were able to give him the send-off he deserves earlier in the week with suitable(!!!) retirement presents. Good luck David – we hope your drumming and motorhome adventures are just starting!
✅ Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) – 5GIR Programme.
Over the last 12 months, we’ve been working with the GMCA team on their DSIT-funded 5GIR Programme – and in the last month, we’ve seen the real-life benefit of this work with social housing residents being connected to air source heat pumps. It’s enabling remote monitoring, green energy consumption and fault diagnostics, leading to faster, more efficient maintenance and most importantly, improved living conditions for residents. We will be providing much more dissemination on this fantastic project early in 2025 – watch this space!
✅ Thank you to Ryan Smith, working with all the Berkshire Authorities and specifically Wokingham Borough Council, collaborating to craft a leading-edge highways options appraisal and service efficiency planning, poised to foster more positive outcomes for the Borough and its residents.
✅ West Sussex County Council – Highway Maintenance Contract. We’re proud to have supported the new procurement process for the Highway Maintenance contract just awarded to Volker Highways and FM Conway, helping the council improve local roads infrastructure for local communities.
✅We’re thrilled to be part of the transformative £2.5 million initiative with St Helens Council’s digital team. This project will deliver ultrafast connections for businesses in St Helens town centre, fuelling digital growth and economic opportunities. With a preferred Supplier Partner now identified, we’re looking forward to driving digital benefits for residents and businesses from mid-2025 onwards – complementing the wider investments as part of the Towns Fund Programme.
✅We’ve been privileged to be involved with STFC Hartree in developing their new 5G Ecosystem – which will see SMEs given the opportunity to develop new products in a real-life learning environment with access to all the expertise and wider community at Daresbury Laboratories – including a new standalone 5G Private Network.
🤝And finally a huge thank you to all our clients and partners for their dedication and hard work this month. We’re looking forward to more successes and delivering community benefits as we head into 2025!
