February good news wrap!

February was a whirlwind month filled with exciting milestones for our business. From award-winning projects and new collaborations to the opening of our first office, we’ve hit the ground running—and this is just the beginning!

🚦 Programme Updates Across the Regions

Greater Manchester
We are nearing the completion of Phase 1 of the GM 5GIR Programme, continuing to expand 5G connectivity across our Smart Transport Corridors and social housing estates in Manchester and Wigan, alongside our programme partners.

West Sussex
Significant strides were made in mobilising the Term Maintenance and Drainage contracts as we move into acceptance testing and staffing phases.

Berkshire
We wrapped up our initial work on the Wokingham Service Improvement Plan, setting the stage for upcoming contract reviews and potential extensions.

Liverpool City Region
We’re preparing for the contract award of the new St Helens Digital Infrastructure Network and have begun soft mobilisation—more announcements to follow! We’ve also started Use Case development across directorates, delivering a workshop for the Council’s Place Directorate.

STFC Hartree Laboratories
We were thrilled to see funding awarded for the STFC 5G Ecosystem at Hartree. This project will help SMEs and IoT device manufacturers adopt advanced wireless technologies through a new Private 5G Network, which we helped manage into the Campus Technology Hub at Daresbury Laboratories.

🗺️ Strengthening Our GIS and Data Excellence

Our GIS proposition continues to grow, delivering critical insights and solutions:

– Flood Risk Resilience: Supported West Sussex County Council’s Drainage team with advanced GIS mapping and data solutions to develop preventative flood risk programmes.

– Empowering Connected Homes: Delivered dynamic asset maps and data visuals for the GM 5G Innovation Region (5GIR) programme.

– New Collaborations: Explored scalability across West Berkshire authorities using spatial representations of service-based activities.

🏆 Recognition at the iNetwork Innovation Awards

We’re incredibly proud that two of our clients, Greater Manchester Combined Authority and St Helens Council, were honoured at the iNetwork Innovation Awards:

– 🏅 St Helens won the Transforming and Innovating Public Services (TIPS)** award.
– 🏅 GMCA received the Connected Procurement and Commissioning** award.

Our contributions to the GMCA LFFN programme (enabling the GM One Network) and our ongoing work with the St Helens Smart Borough Board were part of these successes. These awards showcase the transformative power of technology in building smarter, more connected communities.

🏠 Celebrating Our New Neston Office

We officially opened our first office in Neston, Cheshire West, as part of the **Connect at 13 The Cross** co-working space. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by Mayor Sion Jones, marked our commitment to innovation and community investment.

Our new office is more than a workspace—it’s a hub for creativity, collaboration, and community engagement. We were delighted to celebrate this milestone with our clients, partners, and the wider CJFA family.
