A strong start to the year – January good news

It’s been a rapid start to the year – aside from the opening of a new office and co-working space and the launch of a new website – we’re reflecting on some fantastic progress across our projects—driving digital transformation, infrastructure improvements, and resident engagement with our partners.

Here are just a few highlights:

🏆 Wokingham Service Improvement – Highways Service Contract
Our client has been recognised for most improved network and culture transformation, with CJFA playing a key role in identifying and addressing cultural and behavioural barriers to drive real change.

🚧 West Sussex – Highways Contract Mobilisation
Following the contract award announcement, mobilisation has commenced as part of a new generation of Highways Maintenance Service Contract. Leading the procurement process, VolkerHighways Limited and FM Conway Limited have been chosen for maintenance and drainage works on the county’s road network.

🏡 Greater Manchester Combined Authority
We’ve been undertaking exciting resident engagement work in Wigan and Chorlton, where Hayley and the team have supported 5G connections to 35 social houses, with residents now benefiting from improved services.

📢 St. Helens – Fibre Expansion in Town Centre Plan
A new contract award for fibre as part of the St Helens Town Centre Plan marks another step forward for the region. A further update is on the horizon, and our team attended the mobilisation event next month.

📡 STFC Hartree & 5G – Driving Innovation in the 5G Ecosystem
A major milestone has been reached in the 5G Ecosystem Project at STFC Hartree, where our team has played a key role in identifying a new supplier. This project will be a game-changer for 2025, fostering cutting-edge innovation at the heart of the City Region.

As part of the evaluation team, we’re supporting the development of an SME ecosystem, with 10-12 businesses engaged so far. A key focus of this initiative is the rollout of a 5G private standalone network, which will bring significant benefits to businesses and research institutions. Additionally, we’ve reached an important milestone in installing a new private 5G network at the campus tech hub—an exciting step forward in advancing connectivity solutions for the region.

🌞 West Berks Grazeley Solar Farm – Sustainability in Action
Did you know about our growing presence in energy and sustainability? We’ve supported West Berkshire in procuring a 20MW solar farm, a key project showcasing our commitment to sustainability—with more opportunities on the horizon.

📡 TechUK NW Telecoms Showcase – From Conversation to Delivery
We recently joined the panel at TechUK’s NW Telecoms Showcase at LJM University, discussing the need to move from conversation to action in bridging connectivity gaps across the Northwest. With tens of thousands of properties still lacking fibre, the discussion reinforced that local authorities hold the key to unlocking connectivity through placemaking, planning, and highways strategies. Now, the focus must shift towards delivery at scale.

🎤 UKTIN Event
We also had the pleasure of attending January’s UKTIN event, sharing lived experiences on 5G innovation and exploring the future of telecoms alongside key industry players.

🎉 A Special Mention…
Wishing David Janusz all the best as he steps into retirement—thank you for your contributions! 👏

🚀 A strong start to 2025, with plenty more to come!
