Standard Operating

Procedures

 

 

With sound guiding principles, we utilise a series of Standard Operating Procedures that can be tailored to all types and sizes of projects and complexities. We recognise that some clients prefer to use their in-house tools and techniques, and we are happy to provide an adaptive approach to accommodate this.

 

All delivery resources are minimum PRINCE2® practitioners, and we successfully apply this methodology to enable even the most ambitious programme timescales to be achieved. We do this while simultaneously mitigating risk, maintaining costs, and providing strong project governance and project controls.

 

We recognise the importance of supporting our clients through sound governance and project controls, and use performance tools such as action trackers, RACI, key decision logs, shared filing structures and progress highlight reporting. We produce Project Initiation Documents (PiD) and Project Plans, updated throughout a programme lifecycle, working within existing or establishing new governance structures, with clear documentation and terms of reference.

Comprehensive delivery programmes

 

 

 

Specifically for Fibre and Infrastructure projects, we utilise P6 Primavera Software (or MS Project) to provide robust monitoring and delivery control. This enables accurate resource scheduling, cost profiling and key dependencies to be managed and reviewed frequently.

 

A fully resource loaded programme can support planning activities and identify delivery risks, with task-focused schedules easily extracted, helping technical teams to consider interfaces. We utilise collaborative planning sessions with all team members engaged weekly to interact virtually, or on vis-boards to highlight programme changes and dependencies. This live and agile information is then transferred into our P6 Programmes, enabling up-to-date cost and expenditure forecasts to be produced and any forward resourcing gaps identified.

Coherent risk and opportunity management

 

 

We have developed coherent risk and opportunity management processes on all projects and programmes. By holding monthly risk workshops and weekly briefings, we can identify and help mitigate critical risks. We use Quantitative Risk Assessment methodologies together with traditional registers and dashboards to help reduce risk, inform decision making and monitor change.

 

Establishing comprehensive Stakeholder Engagement Plans (SEP) for our clients simplifies interfaces across delivery teams and supports consistent and frequent communications with all key stakeholders. With regular reviews, this single source of knowledge ensures clear communication protocols across our projects, tailoring any plan to recognise different stakeholder requirements.
